10th Annual LBH Hollywood Bowl Event
2008 Hollywood Bowl Event Save This Date: Saturday, August 30, 2008!
The tenth annual Hollywood Bowl/Casa Alegre fund raiser promises to be an exciting event.It has been sold out in the past, so make your reservations as soon as possible. Our gracious hosts, Rick Hobbs and Brad Seeley, are in the process of making some wonderful improvements to the front of the Casa. So, those of you who have attended the Bowl event before will not want to miss the newest additions and those who have never been to the Casa will be in for a treat.
The Hollywood Bowl performance is by John Williams, who is a multiple Academy Award winner and incomparable film music composer. He is guaranteed to delight, amaze, entertain, and more.
Tickets are $98 per person for members and $108 for non-members. They include transportation by charter bus from Long Beach, dinner, open bar, and Hollywood Bowl admission. Space is limited, so be sure to make your reservations early.

Historic Bus Tour
Sunday April 20th from 11:00 to 3:00

Will include a variety of historic neighborhoods, homes, churches and businesses that have made significant contributions to the preservation of our architectural and cultural heritage. We will pass through many of the seventeen (17) historic districts and several non-designated districts which also played major roles in the history of Long Beach.
Your choice of a gourmet box lunch by Jacaranda.

-Breast of chicken salad with toasted almonds
-Ham piled high on baguette with tarragon mayo
-Roast beef on baguette with "fiesta cream cheese"

Bembridge House

Cost: $25 which will benefit the Bembridge House
This needle art class will be open to people of all ages. No experience
is necessary. The teacher will be Elayna Brown-Levine who is a European
designer of fashion, clothing and clothing embellishment. She will be
assisted by Marion Nickles. At the end of the course Long Beach Heritage
will award a certificate of completion. Supplies are provided by the
instructor. Pupils should bring a spiral notebook, a folder with plastic
page covers and a pen.

Great Homes of Long Beach A Century of Style
SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 2008 from NOON TO 5 P.M. LONG BEACH HERITAGE presents a tour of six architecturally distinguished homes in the Los Cerritos, Belmont Heights, Bluff Heights and Bluff Park areas of Long Beach. WHEN: Saturday, April 26 from 1-5pm
WHERE: Drake Park (10th & Maine) and the Bembridge Heritage Homesite (953 Park
Circle)
The year 1943 is the focus for the 2008 living history tour. Besides
the traditional May Pole Dance, we are partnering with the “Cover the Uninsured
Week”. Other highlights include Games, Face Painting, May Day Crafts and
Storytelling. A DVD of the living history tour will be available for viewing in the newly
restored Carriage House
Long Beach Fire Fighters Association will provide Hot Dogs and Chips.
SCHEDULE: Home tour times are 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. May Pole Dancing led by the
Narondi International Folk Dancers - 1:00pm – 2:30pm. Crafts, Storytelling ,
Games and Face Painting 2 - 5pm. “Covering the Uninsured Week” 1- 5pm.
TICKETS: Park Activities free. Tickets for the tour will be available the day of
the event at the Bembridge Heritage Homesite. Adults, $2 Chiildren under 13
accompanied by an adult free (Tickets are limited).
