Long Beach Heritage invites you to submit nominations for its twenty-seventh annual Preservation Awards, which will be presented on February 26, 2015. The aim of these awards, which have been presented each year since 1989, is to recognize the growing strength and diversity of historic preservation in Long Beach. Membership in Long Beach Heritage is not a requirement to submit a nomination. To be eligible, projects must be located in Long Beach and should conform to the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Projects should also be completed during the current year.
Along with the Preservation Awards for noteworthy projects we will recognize either a Preservationist of the Year or an outstanding architect or architectural firm who has made significant contributions to Long Beach with an Excellence in Architecture award.
An independent jury of preservationists and architects reviews all nominations and selects the most representative examples.

Every year Long Beach Heritage celebrates preservationists and the structures they have saved at our Annual Awards Benefit, our major fund raiser held aboard the historic Queen Mary. This gala event, in the Grand Salon, takes place in February. After a silent auction offering a variety of items from restaurant meals to objets d’art, over two hundred people dine on fine cuisine amidst the splendid Art Deco surroundings. Following dinner the achievements of ten outstanding awardees are portrayed in word and picture and the awards are presented. The 2016 Award Benefit was held on February 23rd.
